Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to offer for sale this rare and historically important 1962 UK first edition (first impression) of Joseph Heller's classic anti war novel, Catch 22, published by Jonathan Cape and with its original revised cover with five authors’ reviews.
Brief synopsis:
Catch 22 follows the story of Captain John Yossairian who is somewhat reluctantly serving in World War 2 and is stationed on the island of Piansea. The novel follows Yossarian’s battle for survival and his ever ingenious ways to avoid fighting in the war. Heller examines the absurdity of military life and war employing a wonderfully dark comic narrative.
