A very large beautifully carved Jarrah Wood Plinth or Socle by renowned carver William Howitt.

Inscribed to the centre ‘Jarrah West Australian Timber Worked By W. Howitt 1905’

British born wood carver William Howitt (1846-1928) moved with his family to Australia in 1888 where he worked in both Melbourne and Perth.

Dimensions:
Width: 36cm
Height: 10cm
Central Recess: 19cm

Origin/Age: Australia, 1905

Condition: Good. Minor marks etc, small loss to carving.
