A fine and rare English lever gentleman's precision pocket watch with a 52.5 minute cycle 'carousel' as designed by Bahne Bonniksen, housed in a top quality solid 18ct gold half hunter case made by Fred Thoms and retailed by Rotherhams of London.

Condition:

Dial - white enamel signed 'Rotherhams, London' with black Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands and sub. seconds dial. In first class condition having no hairlines, staining or chips. The glass is also in excellent condition.

Case - solid 18ct yellow gold half hunter bearing hall marks for Chester, 1920 and the sponsor marks of Fred Thoms who was one of the finest (if not the finest) watch case makers of his time. The sprung front cover opens when the crown is depressed to less than 90 degrees and has a black enamel Roman numeral chapter ring with central viewing porthole. The back cover opens to just under 90 degrees and bears a very well executed monogram. The dust cover is free of personal inscription. All covers open and close as they should and the entire case is in excellent condition. The 5 piece hinges are also in excellent shape. The case is made from heavy gauge 18ct gold and has a gross weight of 150g approx.

Movement - pin set frosted gilt 3/4 plate bearing the serial number '205421' with screw set jeweling, split bi- metallic and compensated balance on the 52.5 minute carousel. In excellent condition and good working order.

Measurements - case diameter 54mm, length 74mm, top plate 43mm.
