A blast from the past...
This bus ticket machine was operated by bus drivers when the new one man buses came into effect in the 1970's and bus conductors were no longer needed.
This machine is from Cardiff Corporation with bus tickets ranging from 1p to 14p and was called a Solomatic and made by The Bell Punch Company Limited.
The ticket machine also has it's original wooden carrying cradle with leather handles. The ticket machine would have been placed on the bus at the start of the day and removed at the end of the sfift.
The carrying cradle has the number 2158 on the side.

In working condition, with original tickets.
