Birds Eye Maple Sarcophagus Tea Caddy


Circa 1810, birds eye maple sarcophagus shaped tea caddy with a smaller domed top above. The caddy is crossbanded in rosewood and opens to reveal an interior with a period mixing bowl, may be original, and 2 mixing departments left and right with brass knob handles. There is a mother of pearl circular escutcheon, and the piece stands on 4 squat bun feet.
