Billingsley Swansea Porcelain Tea Plate c1815 Swansea Regency
we have the pleasure of being able to offer a rare williaim Billingsley decorated Swansea tea plate.

This Swansea duck-egg porcelain Billingsley decorated tea plate is decorated with 10 single pink roses each on a bed of gilded seaweed interspaced by gilt stars around the rim and a simple gilt circular band to the centre. This was a design that was locally decorated. The base is marked with the distinctive Billingsley red Swansea script mark, see “Swansea Porcelain” by Jones & Joseph.

The Plate is 71⁄4 inches (18.5cm) in diameter and is in good condition although there is wear to the gilding in the centre and around the rim.

This rare Billingsley decorated Swansea porcelain tea plate was part of the selling exhibition of rare Derby, Pinxton, Nantgarw and Swansea porcelain "A journey with William Billingsley" 2016, ISBN: 9783741809903.
