This is a particularly opulent looking bureau. It was made by Bevan Funnell, probably in the last thirty years. Do look on Bevan Funnell's website to get an idea of the quality of their cabinet work. This bureau is retailed for seven thousand euros!!!! That's what I thought!

The bureau is beautiful though. It is made to a Georgian design, standing on bracket feet. The fall, top and drawer fronts are made in burr walnut crossbanded in mahogany. The sides are made in straight grained walnut. The drawers are cockbeeded and made as you would expect with dovetail joints. They retain their original gilt metal handles.

Inside, the bureau is fitted with pen drawers and a central cupboard, again finished in burr walnut. It has a tooled leather writing surface.

This is a particularly pretty bureau. The condition is good. Minor marks as you would expect. No key.

The bureau is 37.5 inches high and 31 inches wide and 17 inches deep.
