A working 1950s Mascot ballet themed musical powder bowl in excellent condition. This musical vanity plays The Harry Lime Theme from the film The Third Man, which premiered in Great Britain in 1949. The lid is decorated with guilloche engraving. An oval cartouche frames a ballerina. All hinges and catches work well. The mirror gives an excellent clear reflection. The whole piece has a rich golden patina. The base is decorated with guilloche engraving. The original mirror sticker, instruction leaflet and puff are in place. The tune plays very well. Measures 3 1/2" and weighs 282.4 grams.
