Art Deco 14k white GF Gents Watch, c1928
For your consideration is this fabulously stylish Art Deco Gents manual wrist watch by the American watch company Bulova. This 93 year old Art Deco watch known as the ‘franklin’ and has a rare black dial, with gold numerals with a 14k white gold filled and black enamel infilled casing with a very distinctive Aztec design around the edge .
The movement runs on 15 jewel BULOVA 10AN complete with original dust shield. The 10AN movement was made from 1925 to 1937 and this one bears two date stamp codes – 1927 (square) and 1928 (moon). Often see two date codes on vintage Bulova's, which usually occurred if a movement was made between the end of one production year and the start of a new one. The latter 1928 code matches the date of the case.
Having just been serviced this watch is keeping very good time, ultrasonically cleaned and with a new good quality soft black leather strap which has been added with a plated buckle to match the casing. The condition is excellent and remarkable for it's 93 age and as good as anyone could hope for.
Dimensions:
SIZE: Good size for the era – 26mm wide without crown, x 33mm lug to lug.
9mm thick incl. crystal.
Should fit wrist size of 160mm to 185mm.
The inside back is also signed BULOVA FIFTH AVE NEW YORK. The case-back fits perfectly to the top, snapping on tightly and securely with no gaps.
This watch definitely won't disappoint and is currently one of our all time favourite watches we've ever managed to source, it's a real gem!
