An elegant Antique Solid Silver Inkwell with beautifully designed tortoiseshell hinged cover with intricate silverwork depicting two exotic birds amongst oriental flowers and sitting on a silver hanging ring.

Assayed in London 1909, and made by highly acclaimed Silvermaker William Comyns. As with all William Comyns work the quality of this piece is outstanding.

Very thick gauge of silver. Good strong hinge, and no damage to the tortoiseshell lid. Gilt interior. Weighted base. Measures 11cm in diameter.

Overall this is an impressive piece which would adorn any desk or office.
