Antique Waltham pocket watch, Fattorini & sons
An antique Waltham pocket watch originally retailed by Fattorini & Sons of Bradford.
The watch has a stem-winding movement, grade 620, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed 15 jewel and the serial number 9585333 dates it back to 1900. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 50.4mm diameter excluding the winding crown and stem. The case was made in England by the Dennison Watch Case Company… Aaron Dennison had strong connections with Waltham. The case is 14ct gold filled and was the superior Sun model which was originally guaranteed to wear 25 years. The case has light surface marks from use and a small "ding" to the outer edge at 9 o'clock but overall it is in nice condition for a 1900s piece.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The white enamel dial is signed with the retailer’s name. There is a short hairline crack between the sub seconds dial and the centre although faint, just about visible with a jeweller’s loupe. But overall it is in nice condition.
The watch has its original gold hands and blued steel sub seconds hand.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
