The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement, grade 220, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed, has beautifully patterned plates and a Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision. The serial number, 21,749,005, dates it back to 1917.
The watch measures 44mm diameter excluding the winding stem and loop so a little smaller than a standard 50mm pocket watch but still definitely a man’s watch rather than a lady’s fob watch. The case is Silveroid, an alloy often used in watch cases around this time and it came under various names such as Silverore and Silverine. Nice decoration around the edges. The back of the watch has a pale gold hue. There is some unevenness to the case back.
The watch glass is in good condition with light marking visible through a jeweller’s loupe.
The signed dial is in its original finish and it is in good condition, perhaps just a shade of darkening.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
