Antique Waltham hunter pocket watch for Fattorini
Antique Waltham full hunter pocket watch for Fattorini.
The watch has a 15 jewel stem-winding movement, grade 620, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 17560782 which dates it back to 1908. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50.6mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated and is the Star model from the Dennison Watch Case Company, supplier of cases to Waltham UK. The case is in good condition with just general very light surface marks and a couple of small “dings” to the outer edge.
The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which has light surface marking from use.
The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer of the watch, Watch & Chronometer manufacturer, T Fattorini Bolton & Skipton. The dial is in good condition and has blued steel hands, a sunken subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The Fattorini family were well known in the watch trade. The company was established in 1827 by Antonio Fattorini and his four youngest sons subsequently ran the three branches in Skipton, Bradford and Harrogate. These three branches went on to become run independently of each other and they then became the future inheritance of the sons concerned.
The watch comes in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
