ornate dark brown wooden frame with gilding and a cream coloured museums-quality mount with a gold line.
One of the most iconic antique views of Paris, printed on two sheets and joined in the middle, engraved and published by Johann Friedrich Probst, Augsburg, c1745.
J.F. Probst (1721 - 1781)came from an extented family of engravers and publishers from Augsburg, Germany. He is the grandson of Johann Balthasar Probst (1689 - 1750) who founded the family firm. - Panoramic view with 50 point keys. Paris is seen from the South East looking towards Marly and Bougival.
A priced addition to any collection that will look great over a fireplace or in a study.
