This is an antique stick barometer by Davis of Leeds. English, oak and dating to the early 19th century, circa 1830.
Of fine quality by renowned maker, Davis of Leeds
Cased in English oak displaying grain interest and a desirable patina
Bright, clear hand engraved scales with a pair of vernier slides
The slides adjusted by the original knob – operates both arbours
The shaped pediment decorated with floral carving
Floral carving repeated above and below the thermometer in the shaft
And again in the lower floral carved cistern cover
An antique stick barometer beautifully made and in excellent working condition. Ready to hang.
