Antique silver Waltham pocket watch
An antique silver Waltham pocket watch.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 2,426,300 tells us that it was made in a very small run of just 200 pieces made between June and August in 1884. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 54mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver Birmingham 1921 with a case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison, a prolific case manufacturer who supplied many watch makers with cases but had a particularly close relationship with Waltham. There is a discrepancy in movement and case dates. The case is in beautiful condition and the engine turned detail is still nice and crisp.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in good condition. The hands are lever set (the lever is underneath the hinged bezel beneath number 5).
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
