The watch has a signed key-wound movement which is working well. The movement is stamped with the words 'reversing pinion', which is a device which prevents damage if the mainspring breaks. A winding key is included. The movement is protected by an inner fitted cover.
The watch measures 52.2mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Chester 1894 with a case maker's mark for Thomas Hewitt of the Lancashire Watch Company. The case has light surface marking from use and some mild bruising to the back but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece. The hallmarks in the case are rubbed although legible. The watch was presented by the British Supply Corporation Ltd. 22 Barbican, London.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The dial has a very faint hairline crack below the sub seconds dial but otherwise it is in nice condition.
The watch has its original gold hands and a blued steel sub seconds hand.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
