Antique Regency Yew Wood Tea Caddy
A Gorgeous Original Yew Wood Tea Caddy With Boxwood.
Glorious rich colour with wonderful burr patterning to all sides.
Beautifully crafted edging comprising of solid Box Wood. Each piece of Yew wood is surrounded by fine Boxwood stringing lifting this caddy from the rest.
Dated Regency 1820.
Please bear in mind this caddy is over 200 years old and will show signs of age.
Shaped keyhole escutcheon to front.
Two compartment interior, with lift up lids in burr Yew wood and matching original turned button lifting knobs.
Paper lining to underside of top.
Compartments are paper lined. Most of the paper is complete but is coming detached in places.
Seated on turned feet with a pair of quality flowers in a basket original lifting handles to the sides.
Comes with key, lid closes well. Lock is all present and fully working. Stop hinged to lid.
Superb well waxed sheen to its well maintained polish, no major damage can be seen.
An exceptional quality piece, and a superb example of craftsmanship.
Collector's condition will stand out in any home or executive office.
Looks superb displayed.
