Antique Prescot pocket watch, Lancashire Watch Co
Antique Prescot pocket watch from the Lancashire Watch Co Ltd.
The company was established in 1889 and was intended to be a rival for the big American and Swiss watch manufacturers but unfortunately it failed and the company was closed in 1910.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed with the Lancashire Watch Co, Prescot name. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated. There is a small “ding” to the bezel and some surface marks to the back but overall in good condition for an antique piece.
The watch glass has some a little surface marking and a couple of small chips to the bevelled edge.
The signed white enamel dial has a little group of short faint hairlines but barely noticeable to the naked eye.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
