Antique Motor Car Dashboard Clock / Pocket Watch
An antique motor car dashboard antique clock / pocket watch, circa 1910s.
The watch has a Swiss 7-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover (there are a couple of scratches to this inner cover).
The watch itself measures 48mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is nickel and is in good condition, just minor marking to the back. The watch was originally designed to sit in a requisite in a car dashboard (similar larger ones can sometimes be seen which were designed for airplane cockpits) hence the longer stem. The loop is a later addition so that the watch could be used as a conventional pocket watch.
The watch glass again has minor marking, barely noticeable to the naked eye.
The white dial has bold black Roman numerals, easy for the driver to read, a subsidiary dial at the top of the dial and blued steel hands. If viewed very closely, there are three faint hairlines running from the centre.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
