Antique Lonex pocket watch from Hans Wilsdorf
Antique Lonex pocket watch from Hans Wilsdorf.
The watch has a Swiss seven jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Lonex, just one of the brand names registered by Hans Wilsdorf, founder of Rolex, Lonex was registered in 1920.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some unevenness and a past owner has scratched their initials into it, although fairly light.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and loop. The case is gold plated and has engine turned detail to the hinged case back. There is a cartouche to the centre, again with initials lightly scratched in. There are a few shallow indentations to the back.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The dial is in lovely condition and the shaped hands are a particularly handsome feature.
The watch comes in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
