Antique Langendorf full hunter pocket watch
Antique Langendorf full hunter pocket watch.
The watch has a signed seven jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Langendorf name.
The Langendorf Watch Company was a well respected Swiss watch maker and was one of the world’s largest producers of watches at the end of the 19th Century. They supplied servicemen with watches in both the first and second World Wars. In the 1950s, they registered the brand name Lanco (an abbreviation of Langendorf Watch Company).
The movement is protected by by an inner hinged cover which has a long scratch, probably where a tool has slipped in the past.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model made by the Birmingham watch case maker Aaron Dennison. Dennisons was a prolific manufacturer who supplied cases to many watch makers. The case is in good condition with just light surface marks and a little gentle unevenness to the case back.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition.
The dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
