Antique German Polyphon Style 43 Serpentine Case

Antique German Polyphon Style 43 Serpentine Walnut Disc Music Box, c.1899 – Pristine Intact Comb, 10 Discs (Serial No. 163349)
An exceptional and highly original late-Victorian tabletop disc-playing music box manufactured by the world-renowned Polyphon Musikwerke in Leipzig, Germany. Dating to circa 1899–1900 based on factory serial number 163349, this machine represents the absolute golden era of mechanical musical craftsmanship.
This specific example features the rarer, highly desirable serpentine-front walnut cabinet with an elegant shaped base and rich original graining. The interior lid opens to reveal the classic, pristine monochrome lithograph print depicting musical cherubs in a garden setting. The central brass drive arm features ornate textured engravings and houses the original black tracking rollers to guide the steel discs smoothly across the mechanism.
Crucially for collectors, the steel musical comb is in 100% complete, flawless condition with zero nbroken or repaired teeth. The starwheel gantry and original damper wires are beautifully aligned, delivering a clear, robust sound projection typical of the top-tier Polyphon brand.
