Antique George III Mahogany Tea Caddy
Antique George III Mahogany bombe shaped tea caddy, with a slightly raised pagoda top.
The lid opens to reveal 3 various divisions, with lift off lids with matching brass button knobs.
Brass lifting handle to top of lid. Foliate escutcheon on the front is very stylish. Full lock but no key. (A key can be obtained from a locksmith if required for around £15 - £20). Seated on four turned feet. Stop-hinged lid.
Beautiful grain patterns to timbers.
Superb Georgian tea caddy and a very good example.
I have added a replacement glass mixing bowl as a free gift. It sits very nicely inside the middle compartment and the lid sits on the top the same as others. It never had a bowl originally but this is a nice addition I think. It can be removed if not required.
