A very nice example of a late Victorian or Edwardian travelling chess set dating to around 1900.

The case is made from Mahogany and is held closed with two brass catches, one either end.

The board when opened reveals the complete chess set, it's rather nice to have the holes around the sides to house the pieces once finished with during a game.

Excellent condition measuring 7" x 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" tall while closed, the King measuring around 1/2" tall excluding the peg.
