Antique English Burr Walnut Games Compendium
A very handsome fitted games box dating to the late Victorian era, around 1880, made from Walnut and complete with a working key.
The leather board fits neatly into the interior of the lid and held with two brass pins. The board has three uses Chess & Draughts/Checkers Backgammon Steeple Chase (Horse Racing Game).

Boxwood and Ebony Chess set Boxwood and Ebony Backgammon Counters / Draughts / Checkers Cribbage Board with Pegs Set of bone dominoes Steeple Chase Horses and Fences A turned Boxwood Dice Shaker, Dice, a turned Boxwood mallet other miscellaneous counters.
