This is a rare opportunity to acquire a pair of Composition Shoulder Head Bisto Gravy Kids Advertising Dolls. They’re in good condition but do exhibit so age-related wear, which includes some discolouration from handling and storage plus some hair loss to the head of both. The hair (that remains) to one of the dolls is inside the hat when removed. They measure approximately 30cm from head to toe.

The characters themselves were created by the famous cartoonist Wilf Owen, their cast-off, cut down clothes and endearing mischievousness were an instant hit. By the 1920’s and 1930’s the kids were almost cult figures. These dolls were produced during that heyday as advertising pieces to promote the brand.
