This is a inlaid 19th century Tunbridge ware sewing box. The outside is decorated with a range of specimen woods that include ebony, walnut, boxwood and elm. The interior has been refurbished with a lilac satin silk and suede that lines the bottom of the box and the tray. The document department in the lid is intact and working. On the tray, the lid pulls are mother of pearl. Underneath is the original green baize material. The condition is excellent with no missing veneer or inlay. This is a lovely piece that would grace any home.
