Very unusual 19th century tea caddy veneered in a burr rootwood, possibly Scottish.
Splendidly quirky item,the inside of the lid reminds me of a grotto,I wouldn`t know which type of wood it is but it does have a beauty to it,it also has an interesting earthy aroma.
The compartments are lead or zinc lined the lids come with evil eye type knobs.

24cm x 15cm x 14cm high

Very good,the compartment lids have warped slightly and the lid doesn`t completely close, no other issues I can see.
