An Interchangeable Cylinder Musical Box
An interchangeable cylinder musical box by MMC (Mojon Manger & Co) no 28128 circa 1892, playing 24 airs from 4 cylinders (33cm/13 inches long) as listed on original tune sheet.
Double spring motor and zither, ‘Mandoline Piccolo’ format, original bespoke table with cylinder storage drawer. Amboyna veneer, boxwood stringing, ebony borders. Brass, mother of pearl, malachite and tulipwood decoration contained within an ebony cartouche to front and lid.
Turned ebonised legs (removable) to table, brass escutcheon plates to drawer and case. Supplied with keys to box and drawer. Table and case sympathetically restored, mechanism professionally serviced
