A high quality Victorian burr walnut jewellery box with all its original fittings. The lid which has a working key, opens to reveal the blue lined interior with ten glass containers all surmounted by their original engraved silver plated lids. The front tray lifts out to reveal a further storage compartment. A brass knob to the side lifts to release a fitted lined drawer. The interior of the lid has its original gathered velvet lining. The inside of the box is all original and while the original lining of the box is showing a little wear. it is generally in excellent condition. One of the rectangular glass bottles has been cracked and repaired, see photograph. Sizes: 12”(30 ½ cms) wide, 8 ½ “(22cms) deep, 7”(18cms) high. Date circa 1870. I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book. I have therefore made considerable reductions to the prices of most of my stock. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if any items are of interest. Deliveries carried at as normal.
