1 of 6
Taxidermy is now back in fashion and this rather handsome British bird is encased in a nice quality case.
The bird is a Bittern, (Botaurus stellaris) an inhabitant of reed beds and wetlands>
Now regrettably amongst the most endeangered species in Britain.
This fellow is reputed to have lived on Llangorse Lake, near Brecon.
Set in a naturalistic scene he is in good condition.
The case is of unusually fine quality, with turned pilasteres at each corner, and bun feet.
The glass is damaged on the front right corner and consequently the glass has become rather dirty on the inside.
64cms wide x 66cms tall x 30cms deep Havard & Havard are committed to holding high standards of practice and thus enable you to have complete confidence in your purchases.
