A Victorian period stick barometer. A rosewood case with and arched pediment. Ivorine dials, the top engraved 'Invented by P Christensen, West Cowes Isle of Wight'. A scale from 27 to 31" and a vernier scale slide. An original vernier adjuster knob. A mercury thermometer. Circa 1850.

P Christensen is recorded in Banfields' 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1830-50. He is also noted as working in Newport, IOW.
