An early Victorian mother of pearl inlaid mercury wheel barometer. A rosewood case with a swan neck pediment and the original brass finial. Lovely mother of pearl case inlays in excellent condition and the original brass set knob. Well silvered dials and a flat mercury thermometer. The level is engraved 'PIZZALA 10 HATTON GARDEN'. Circa 1845.

The Pizzala family of instrument makers are well documented in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book and worked in Hatton Garden, London in the 19th century.
