A lady's antique Waltham fob watch and albertina
A lady’s antique American Waltham Watch Company fob watch and chain.
The American Watch Company was formed in January 1859 when the Waltham Improvement Company and Appleton, Tracy & Company merged to form the "American Watch Company." In 1885, the company became the "American Waltham Watch Company".
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed and the serial number 8,100,722 which dates it back to 1897. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 40mm diameter excluding the winding stem. The case is gold plated and was made in England by Aaron Dennison, who made cases for the London office of Waltham. The case is nicely detailed and it is in beautiful condition.
The watch glass has minor marks but they are hardly noticeable to the naked eye.
The signed enamel dial is in very nice condition, with blued steel hands and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a very pretty single albertina with rope twist detail and a decorative ball fob.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
