A gents Cyma Navystar wrist watch, 1960s
A gents Cyma Navystar wrist watch.
The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre R486, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed with both the Cyma name and the Tavannes name. The Tavannes Watch Company collaborated with Schwob Frères and they produced watches under the name Cyma. Eventually the Cyma name became more well known than Tavannes, and in fact is still around today.
The watch measures 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is in lovely condition, as is the lens. The screw-on case back is signed both on the inside and the outside.
The dial has been re-finished at some stage, in a military style. The hands have also been changed to fall in line with this style and overall the watch has a good look… this work has been professionally undertaken and would have cost the owner a significant amount of money to carry out.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
