A gents 1960s Omega wrist watch, box & papers
A gents 1960s Omega wrist watch, box & papers.
The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre 601, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega name and the serial number 21,986,588 dates it back to 1964.
The watch itself measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated with a stainless steel case back. It is in good condition, just a couple of short surface scratches across one of the lugs. The inside of the case back has the Omega triangular stamp together with the case reference 131.019 which is correct for the calibre 601 movement. The winding crown is a later non-Omega replacement.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in good condition too.
The watch has been fitted with a new leather strap.
Also included is the original presentation box and guarantee which includes the movement serial number, dated October 1966. The outer card box is also included although stickers have been adhered around the top of the lid.
