A gents 1950s Pirofa chronograph / wrist watch
A gents 1950s Pirofa chronograph / wrist watch.
Pirofa traded from Nantes during the 1950s and 1960s. The name Pirofa was formed from the names of the founders, Pierre and Robert Fontaine.
This particular watch has a Landeron 187 hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch itself measures 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown / buttons and the lugs. The case is gold plated with a stainless steel screw-on case back and it is in lovely condition.
The lens is in good condition too.
The dial is signed with the Pirofa name. There is some age related marking to the dial which shows at certain angles. The hands appear to be the originals and are certainly of the correct design. There are two subsidiary dials, one for constant seconds and the other records up to 30 minutes.
A later leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
