The book covers the history & development of the Wirral with interesting maps, diagrams of dock development & illustrations of important buildings of the time.
There is a notation on the flyleaf " extra illustrated by the insertion of 23 plates including some by J M W Turner RA" see Chester Castle in photo.
The book is hard bound, Leather corners & spine with Gilt decoration. Fabric covered board.
A very interesting book. A rare survivor in original form.
Condition , some foxing & yellowing as can be expected, spine & binding very good condition, few marks on the back cover. Overall very good condition for age.
Size 11.25" by 9.25" approx.
