19th century Sudanese, Mahdist period (Moslem dervishes), thick hide shield. Has a raised central boss and a hide bound wooden handle. Has the original two notches either side of the shield. Has a good colour and is in good condition for age but with slight edge wear.

Approximately 50cm diameter with a raised boss of around 11ac.
