19th Century Metal Criminal Convictions Chest
An original metal storage chest that would have held criminal convictions from 1898-1899. The chest has a central partition which
can be removed. This probably would have been originally from a police station or perhaps a court house, as the only places where criminal convictions would have been stored. The lettering to the front original. There is a lock but it no longer has a key.
At each end there is a metal handle for ease of transport.
Measuring 72cm wide, 28cm deep, 23.5cm high
c. Late 19th century
