1974 Omega Flightmaster - Full Set

1 of 6
A 1974 Omega Flightmaster wristwatch. The central dial has a grey matte finish, surrounded by a white outer minute track - with alternating hatched 5 second markers. Extended lume strips mark the hours, edged by lume dots to mark 12 o'clock. The dial has 3 subsidiary dials, comprising of a cosntant seconds to 9 o'clock, a 12 hour counter to 6 o'clock and a 30 minute timer to 3 o'clock. A blue GMT function hand, adjusted independently by a crown to the left side of the case. Surrounding the central dial is an outer 5 minute marker wheel, which can be adjusted and set seperately. Signed 'T SWiss Made T' to the bottom.
A large stainless steel case with a brushed finish to the front portion of the case. The edges and back show a polished finish - importantly neither of the sections have been repolished at any point and show the original finish, which is unusual on a watch of this size. The watch has multiple crowns and pushers, wach colour coded to the function it activates for the mechanism/dial. This watch comes complete on its original Omega bracelet and has retained its original glass. Case reference 145.036. The case back shows a jet and the line name 'Flightmaster' - the watch was specifically targeted towards airline pilots, with several sources stating these models were used for Concorde pilots as well as during training for US-Soviet space missions.
The watch is powered by a 17 jewel caliber 911 Omega mechanism. This is a second generation Flightmaster model, which shows a different setup of the dial to make it slightly easier to read with brighter primary colours. Amazingly, this watch is complete with its original bracelet (spare links), international guarantee, instruction manual and box.
Case width (excluding crown) 43mm
Case height 53mm
Case depth (including glass) 15mm
