1960s mid-size Rotary GT Junior wrist watch
Quite an unusual 1960s mid-size Rotary GT Junior wrist watch. There are not too many of these watches around, especially in the black dial version.
The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement, with Incabloc shockproofing, which is working nicely. The movement is held in position with the retaining ring therefore the retaining screws are not required within the movement, hence the two empty screw holes.
The watch measures 29.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs so it is a mid-size piece. The main body of the case is chrome plated while the screw-on case back is stainless steel. The front of the case has light surface marking while there is more wear to the back of the watch. The case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish which is in good condition. The red subsidiary seconds hand is a nice feature, especially next to the chequered flags.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
