1934 silver Revue pocket watch for J W Benson.
1934 silver Revue pocket watch for J W Benson.
The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement by Revue which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1934, together with the case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison. The Dennison Watch Case Company was a prolific manufacturer of cases for various watch makers. The case is in very nice condition.
The lens has light surface marks which just show at certain angles.
The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer of the watch, J W Benson of London. The dial is in good condition, just one faint hairline coming out from the centre but it is quite difficult to see with the naked eye. Blued steel hands.
The watch comes with a single chain, 27cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. It is earlier in date than the watch being hallmarked for 1905. Each of the gradated links has the lion silver mark. Also included is a silver fob which was awarded in 1936 to the winner of the Staffs Co' Police Ambulance Eliminating Competition. The chain and fob weigh 41.5g.
The watch and chain will come in a new presentation box.
