1930 Waltham pocket watch for Fattorini
1930 Waltham pocket watch for Fattorini.
The watch has a grade 620 15 jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. This is a good quality movement with gold jewel chatons, Church 1892 patent regulator and nicely patterned plates. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 27,108,153 dates it back to 1930. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated. The front of the case is in good condition. The back has some rubbing and a slight indentation.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The dial is signed Fattorini & Sons. The watch would have been bought in from Waltham to be sold under the Fattorini name, in the Bradford branch.
The Fattorini family were well known in the watch trade. The company was established in 1827 by Antonio Fattorini and his four youngest sons subsequently ran the three branches in Skipton, Bradford and Harrogate. These three branches went on to become run independently of each other and they then became the future inheritance of the sons concerned.
The acrylic lens is in good condition, as is the signed dial is in good condition.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
