1925 silver Cyma pocket watch with albert.
The watch has a signed 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 46mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop so a little smaller than a standard pocket watch, it has a nice sleek slim appearance which was typical of the Art Deco period. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Edinburgh (import mark), 1925 with an importer's mark of SFC (Schwob Frères & Co for Pringles, the importers). One of the companies owned by Schwob Frères & Co was Tavannes, who produced watches under the Cyma name, such as the watch we have here. The case has the odd minor mark and a mild bruise to the side but overall is in nice condition.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The dial is in its original finish with original Breguet style hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. There is some marking to the dial, and some age related darkening, but it is still easy to read the time.
The watch comes with a single albert, 25cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The chain is silver but is not hallmarked as such as it is probably Continental 800 silver. Also included is a 1926 English silver fob with rose gold wash detail.
The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
