1901 English Lever pocket watch, Padgett Newark
1901 English Lever pocket watch, W.W.Padgett Newark.
The watch has a key-winding movement which is working well. The movement is numbered 41003. The movement is protected by an inner fitted cover. A winding key is included.
The watch measures 50.5mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Chester 1901 with a maker’s mark for the case maker J.H probably the Coventry case maker Jesse Hallam . The case has light surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition for an 1900s piece. The inner cover has the name of a previous owner inscribed on it.
The glass lens is in nice condition.
The white enamel dial is signed with the retailers name W.W.Padgett, Newark. The dial has slight nibbling to the sub seconds dial but otherwise it is in nice condition.
The watch has gold hands and blued steel sub seconds hand (the minute hand is later although antique)
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
