Description
Here is a very good quality set of 10 original French Louis XV style upholstered beech dining chairs, circa mid 20th century. The set consists of eight side chairs and 2 armchairs. The pair of armchairs boasts elegant high backs, which are connected to splayed padded arms. The side chairs are of similar design with a high shaped back and elegant shaped top rail. The chair seats feature an elegant serpentine design, with a moulded beech frieze and a central carved floral cartouche. The chairs stand on very pretty cabriole legs, which terminate on scroll toes. The set of chairs retains its original polish, which is why the chairs have a fantastic depth of colour and patination. The chairs are upholstered in a good quality hard wearing taupe shade wool & cotton upholstery, featuring a herringbone pattern with piped edges. The chairs are very comfortable, solid in joint and would look good in either a traditional or contemporary setting.
The chairs would look superb in the dining room. The chairs would certainly grace any home or office and a great investment, as they are an extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

This set of dining chairs is in very good condition. This is a “true” set of dining chairs i.e. they have not been matched together from smaller sets of chairs. They are of excellent quality, with a very robust design. The chair frames retain a lovely rich colour and patination. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the chairs. The upholstery is clean and in good condition. There are no breaks to the backs, frames or legs of any of the chairs. The seat frames and chair joints are also solid in joint.
