Description

A very lovely, well-proportioned Georgian flame-mahogany serpentine fronted oval dressing table or toilet mirror c1790. Flame-mahogany veneered top with boxwood lines to edges. Oval swing mirror with rippled-glass plate and original brass fixtures, supported on shaped upright supports. The mirror’s frame having crossbanded veneers - also present on front of base around drawers. Serpentine fronted base containing three flame-mahogany fronted draws with boxwood lines to match top. Bone pull-handles and inset bone escutcheon. Original working lock and key. Raised on four ogee bracket feet. Very lovely figuring to the mahogany. Original finish with a gorgeous aged patina. Overall maximum height is 50 cm. Maximum base measurements are 39.5 cm in width and 19.5 cm in depth.
Overall this mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Minor historic marks and wear as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Retaining its original finish. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
