Description

A fine Regency figured mahogany and ebony inlaid breakfronted sideboard c1820. The sideboard ahs a beautifully figured mahogany top with mahogany crossbanded border and moulded detail to edge. Three breakfronted drawers with brass lion mask, drop-ring handles above two cupboards. Drawer and cupboard fronts with fine half-round applied border moulding with inset corners enclosing inlaid ebony lines with oblique fleur-de-lis decorative motif to corners. Working locks and keys on cupboards. Both cupboards internally have a single shelf with upper and lower shelf locators. The sideboard is raised on acanthus carved front feet. Retaining its original finish. Measures 90 cm in height, 127 cm width and 53 cm depth.
This sideboard is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Restored in our workshop to a very high standard using traditional methods and materials. Retaining its original finish. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
